Principal's Report-Thank
you to Nanette Jackson for
chairing Dinner with Santa.
Also,
thank you to Mr. and Mrs.
Lucas for helping.
Greenwood's families in need
would also
like to give a big thank
you! Greenwood's staff made
a giving tree and delivered
those
items to the families as
well. Pennies for Pies was a
great success raising
$467.40.
The pies were donated to the
Salvation Army to help feed
the homeless. The tire swing
has been repaired and is
ready to go back up.
Greenwood had a spelling bee
on Jan 23rd
for our 4th and 5th graders.
Cameron Fick won first place
with Jordan Eckman being
the runner
up. The county event will be
Feb.17th. Kindergarten round
up for the district
will take place on March 5th
at JMS at 6:30p.m.
Greenwood's Kindergarten
round up will be
March 12th @ 1 p.m.
Preschool open house will be
March 13th at 5 p.m.
Greenwood has been
NCA accredited. The district
is working on all district
accreditation. JMS will be
here to
talk to our 5th grade about
scheduling Feb. 5th in the
afternoon. Next 5th grade
graduation meeting will be
February 6th at 6:30p.m.
Teachers Report -
Teachers made a form to
help with study hall and
detention. Mrs.
Dzubak will need funds for
Science Olympiad: t-shirts,
medals and lanyards. $350.00
(12 approved, 2 opposed, 1
abstained) Fifth grade
teachers would like to have
a second
field trip. $425 (14
approved, 1 abstained). The
$425 will be paid back.
March is reading
month theme will be "Dive
into Reading". $1200 (14
approved,1 abstained). Next
year
teachers will have an equal
amount for Weekly Readers.
The Special Education Dept.
is in the process of an
audit.
PTO to Date -
We have a new secretary,
Lisa Akers. We need more
volunteers. Spirit Wear
has done well. Our bake sale
profits for Dec. 18/19th
were $138.75, Jan. 15th
$135.81
Bottle Drive for Field Trip
Shirts -
We will discontinue the
bottle drive and approve
$100

purchase shirts. Pop can
deposits from Ice Cream
Social can
help replenish this amount
back into the PTO fund.
Movie Night -
Sandi Prantera and Cindy
Venditti will chair. More
information coming.
Travis Country Kitchen Night

Will be January 21st from
12pm to 8pm.
Market Day -
December profit was at it's
lowest: $76.72
Dinner w/Santa -
Total deposit was $1384. The
$400 that was approved was
not enough
to fund this event. 330
people attended. We would
like to apologize to the
families for
any inconvenience the menu
change may have caused. Next
month we'll discuss past
budgets and spending
practices for Dinner with
Santa.
Morley Candy Easter
Fundraiser -
Marilyn Leonardi to chair.
Jan 25th will be the
kick-off
assembly. Greenwood will get
approx. 40% of the profits
from this fundraiser.
Sock Hop -
Brooke Goodnough and Kim
Ludwig to chair. Will be
held Feb. 14th from 4-6.
A lot of food leftover last
year; may send home a flyer
to get accurate number
coming.
Tin Can Raffle -
Table for next year.
New Business -

Cookie Dough Sale-
Rehne' Myers to chair. Sale
will be in Spring.
2. Bake Sale and
Candy Gram for February -
Fifth grade teachers will be
having a bake
sale to pay back PTO
for extra field trip.
Student Council will sponsor
candy grams.
3. Campbell Soup
Labels/Box Tops - Susan
Willard reported the amount
of $253.40 from
Box Tops. A letter
will be coming home.
4.
McDonald's/Subway Night-Will
be chaired by Jeanine
Marsack-Malaga. Will have
one
every other week.
Subway will give 20% of the
profits (before taxes),
McDonald's
will give 15%
(before taxes). Dates to be
announced. (14 approved, 1
abstained).
5. PTO Event
Files- Will be put together
for future chairpersons by
Laura Miskelly and
Katie Flaherty will
help.
