5200 PHYSICAL EDUCATION
(1 Unit of Credit)
This course offers a selection of physical activities from the following areas: swimming, diving, fitness testing, conditioning, seasonal team sports, tumbling, dance, and weight training.

Prerequisite:  None
Grades Taught:  9 (Required)


5210 CONDITIONING & WEIGHT TRAINING
(1 Unit of Credit)
Can be repeated with teacher/administration approval.
(WILL NOT COVER P.E. REQUIREMENT)
This course offers conditioning, self-testing, and weight training. This course concentrates on the development of student’s structure, agility, and coordination, along with the basic understanding of muscular development and movement. The class will utilize the weight room, gym, outdoor facilities and pool.

Prerequisite:  Physical Education I
Grades Taught:  10, 11, 12


5220 INDIVIDUAL SPORTS
(1 Unit of Credit)
(WILL NOT COVER P.E. REQUIREMENT)
This course is an introduction to activities such as tennis, handball, paddleball, racquetball, archery, bowling, badminton, golf, table tennis, and diving. This course does require the student to meet the required expenses of racquetball, golf, and bowling field trips, if transportation and facilities are available.

Prerequisite:  Physical Education I
Grades Taught:  11, 12



5230 TEAM SPORTS
(1 Unit of Credit)
(WILL NOT COVER P.E. REQUIREMENT)
The course is a combination of selected team and lifetime sports. They include speedball, power volleyball, basketball, floor hockey, softball, water sports, team handball, water polo, and flag football.

Prerequisite:  Physical Education I

5235 EXERCISE THROUGH DANCE TECHNIQUE
(1 Unit of Credit)
This course is designed to provide the students with a multitude of dance activities. These activities will include understanding of classical ballet basic, self-control of body movement/awareness and modern/contemporary trends. Exploration of dance history will be researched through books and the internet. This class could give performance at elementary schools/or senior citizen homes. No dance experience is necessary. Ultimately, dance students will aim to discover and develop the potential for creativity within themselves. Proper dance attire (leotards or sweat clothes and shoes that allow flexibility) is required. Please pick-up and return application for course from instructor before scheduling.
